Premiere Flooring Systems Expands Commercial Carpet Care Division
BETHEL, CT: February 1, 2008 – Today, Bethel based Premiere Flooring Systems (PFS) announced the expansion of their commercial carpet care and maintenance division.
Nicholas Mazzo, president and founder of PFS said, “This is another exciting time for us. This past September we moved into our 11,000 s/f regional service center, now we’re expanding our carpet care division and making the necessary changes to accommodate the expansion. As the economy remains unstable, organizations are looking for ways to save money and keep their interior finishes looking good, longer.

Mazzo’s family began in the flooring business in 1953 after his uncle, Frank Comito, was honorably discharged from the US Army. The purchase of Mount Vernon, NY based Westchester Floor Covering, founded in the 1920’s and Westchester’s first floor covering store, became the family’s first of 4 businesses. Soon after his start in flooring, Comito entered the carpet business upon being awarded the prestigious Karastan Carpet franchise, when Karastan executives had been looking for a retail location with a proven track record for service and quality.
Later, Mazzo’s father Joseph began working for Comito and then Circle Flooring, NYC’s largest flooring contractor, until 1963 when he opened the family’s second flooring store, Mazzo Floor Covering Corp., in Yonkers, NY. A third retail store was opened in Bronxville, NY in the 1970’s, as well as All County Floor Service, a full service carpet and floor maintenance company, founded and operated by Joseph’s eldest brother Frank.
As a 3rd generation flooring professional, Mazzo, a veteran US Marine, brings a lifetime of commercial flooring & carpet care experience to the region. Prior experience includes: President, retail family flooring business; Burlington Industries, account executive; and DuPont Flooring Systems, Vice President & General Manager, NY/NJ Metro Area.
